amélie's nonsense
well there has to be a place where all the research-nonsense (sometimes maybe even reasonable and interesting) comes all together. i am using this as a notebook, kind of summary of anything which appears to be interesting in genres of art, design, fashion, trash or technology. so if you like it, even better!

i do not own any rights of the pictures on this page, if you are the owner of some picture and want me to remove it from this blog, just let me know.

5 of my favourite tattoo artists*
Daniel Gensch - Working out of Bläck Fisk Tattoo in Berlin, Germany. A lot of old-school imagery (sailors, swallows) but heavily modernised; almost watercolour-like.
Pietro Sedda - Based in The Saint Mariner in Milan, Italy. Sedda’s style seems to be predominantly based around abstract faces, which are unlike anything I’ve seen anyone else doing.
Peter Aurisch - The King of the “European” style of tattooing that seems to be becoming more prevalent.
"Sneaky" Mitch Allenden - I was tempted to get in touch with this Leeds-based artist as I’ll be in his locale for a few days in September, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to spare the time. Allenden works with animals and deep, dark colours, and does a great line in bird feathers and fur.
Adriaan Machete - Berlin-based Mexican artist whose work is all about “mystic Mexican women”, or at least, that’s what he told me when I got my own Machete piece done (pictured, above).
There are tons more artists out there whose work I love, here are some honourable mentions and links to their work on tumblr.
Jeff Gogue - tattooist to the stars; waiting list as long as your arm, and then a bill to match
Anna Enola
Roxx
Lionel Fahy
Aga Yadou
Ivana Belakova
Michael Bennett
* Correct at time of writing. I reserve the right to change my mind as soon as I’ve posted this.
Who have I missed? Any favourite artists that you’d like me to mention?
